Chicago-based Hiplet Ballerinas fuse classical pointe technique with urban dance styles including African, Latin, and Hip-Hop. Their show was specifically designed to make ballet accessible to all by mixing the traditional dance style with current, popular songs that will be familiar to all audiences. Hiplet's performances incorporate the rhythms of African drums with Tchaikovsky, arabesques and beat-boxing, and even Tango en pointe—all while showcasing Hiplet's trademark sass, hip movements, and struts—against recognizable popular music from Black Violin to Beyoncé and Prince. ECC Arts Center acknowledges support from the Illinois Arts Council Agency.

Water’s rapid-fire, one-man, spoken word “vaudeville” act celebrates the film career and joyously appalling taste of the man William Burroughs once called “The Pope of Trash.” It is updated and expanded from the original film version that enjoyed critical success at the Edinburgh, Toronto, and Berlin Film Festivals. This performance focuses on Waters’ early negative artistic influences; his fascination with true crime, exploitation films, fashion lunacy, the extremes of the art world, Catholicism and sexual deviancy; and a love of reading.
